To join SSI’s 3-Step Instructor Training Approach, you must be a Divemaster or equivalent. The process begins with the Assistant Instructor/Instructor Training Course, followed by Digital Learning. After completing the Instructor Training Course (ITC), you’ll attend an Instructor Evaluation (IE) to become an SSI Open Water Instructor. This 10-day program enables you to teach various SSI programs independently, such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, and Diver Stress & Rescue. Alternatively, you can take each step separately, progressing at your own pace.
