Mandy Stewart, Open Water Scuba Instructor

Believe it or not, Mandy Stewart, aka Mermandy, used to be deathly afraid of sharks. It took a trip to Hawaii in 2013 to not only get her in the ocean for the very first time with a Discover Scuba Diving experience but to develop a deep love and understanding of the underwater world, even sharks. It was non-stop diving from there.

Mandy returned to Oklahoma City and with some nudging by Sharky Shane Norwood, decided to complete her Open Water certification. A trip to Jamaica after that saw the completion of her Advanced Open Water certification, and she completed Rescue Diver on her birthday in Roatan, Honduras. After a trip to Belize to dive the Blue Hole, Mandy returned to Roatan to begin her professional career completing both the Divemaster program and her Instructor Development Course in 2015.

Mandy's favorite shark is the hammerhead. If you dive with her, she can guarantee you'll always see one... even if it is only her BCD tag-along shark, Hammy. The next bucket-list location on her radar is Darwin and Wolf Islands in the Galapagos archipelago for the schooling hammerheads.

When land-bound, you'll mostly likely find Mermandy at Sharky's Scuba Shop.
