Matt began diving while on vacation in Cozumel in 2014. He had never really considered diving until someone else on the trip invited him to go on a dive. His first Discover Scuba Diving experience was a drift dive in Cozumel, and he fell in love with diving immediately. He completed his Open Water, Advanced, Rescue Diver, and other specialty certifications in 2014. He obtained more specialty certifications and eventually achieved Divemaster status in 2015.
After working as a Divemaster at Sharky’s Scuba for a few years, Matt completed his PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification in 2020. Matt is also certified as a DiveHeart Advanced Adaptive Dive Buddy and always seeks opportunities to introduce people of any ability to the amazing world of scuba diving.
Matt is passionate about helping people experience their first breaths underwater and assisting them with growing their skills and love for diving. Matt has been diving in Mexico, Jamaica, Fiji, Bonaire, Belize, Honduras, and various locations in the USA. Matt loves traveling with his wife, Amy. She enjoys watching waves from the beach while he watches sharks and turtles underwater.
